Registration for College Credit
For Coursework This Year in GMP I-IV
Information will be posted here in October. Registration is Due December 8th.
For Fall or Spring Coursework in GMP V and VI
- Registering for the optional college credit involves 4 steps for you. While UB undergraduates register themselves in the HUB student center, GMP registers our own students there. Your job is to
- Clear the "To Do" list in the HUB student center
- Start by finding the HUB student center in MyUB.
- From there, find and clear all "To Do" List items in the HUB student center. These must be cleared before we can register you. If you need help with clearing the "To Do" list, step-by-step instructions for the items are available. These include completing the personal profile and agreeing to the financial liability policies.
- Read important information and obligations.
- Cost (as of fall 2021 and subject to change) of in-state tuition per credit hour is $295. GMP V and VI courses are 4-credit courses both in fall and spring. A 4-credit course costs $1180. Do not send payment to the GMP office.
- Tuition updates, along with billing information, can be found on the UB Student Accounts webpage.
- After we register your child, the statement will show on the student HUB account. There are no paper bills. The University must receive your payment on time or you will be charged a late fee. Please observe deadlines as late registration charges cannot be waived by GMP action.
- Information about payment deadlines and how to pay can be found here.
- We recommend that parents become Authorized Payers especially so that you will receive billing and reminders without checking your student's email. Student accounts personnel are not able to discuss the account with parents who are not listed as Authorized Payers.
- If you are not a permanent resident or H4 visa, you will be charged out-of-state rates. If you are a permanent resident or H4 visa, you may be asked to complete a New York State Residency Application in order to pay in-state rates.
- It is very important that you understand that tuition charges cannot be avoided once you register. Scholarship assistance is not available for college credit.
- Students will be choosing "College Credit only," "Both High School and College Credit," or "High School Credit only." Be aware that you cannot change your high school credit status midway through the year. You can still choose whether or not to take college credit in the spring, but the high school credit cannot change. The high school transcript should show a full year of GMP or should leave out GMP for the full year.
- Be aware that students in our program are classified with “GMP” status. This means the courses available through our program do not have any fees associated with them. The University charges tuition without added fees for our courses. If students decide to register for non-GMP courses during the Fall and Spring semesters through the Advanced College Credit Program (e.g., classes such as chemistry, physics, psychology, languages, etc.), the GMP status is removed and they are responsible for any University fees associated with the courses, which can be substantial.
- The last day to drop a course without financial penalty and without a notation on the transcript is normally the first Friday of the UB semester. Semester specific drop/add deadlines and information can be found on the registrar website.
- If you wish to obtain credit for this coming fall, complete and sign the Permission to Register Form no later than May 18th.
- Make the payment in the HUB after we register you. Fall payments are normally due in mid-August. See UB Student Accounts for semester specific billing and payment dates.
