Registration for College Credit

For Coursework This Year in GMP I-IV

  • Registering for the optional college credit involves 3 steps for you. While UB undergraduates register themselves in the HUB student center, GMP registers our own students there. Your job is to
    1. Clear the 'To Do' list in the HUB student center
    2. Complete our in-house registration form (we'll put you in the HUB from there)
    3. Make the payment in the HUB after we register you.
  • Start by finding the HUB student center in MyUB.
  • You will need to take care of 'To Do List' items in the HUB student center before we can register you. These include completing the personal profile and agreeing to the financial liability policies.
  • It is in your best interest to only sign up for college credit in GMP I–IV if you are maintaining a school grade above 85. Check your UB Learns section A for school quarter grades.
  • Cost (as of fall 2021 and subject to change) of in-state tuition per credit hour is $295. A 1-credit course (GMP I or III) costs $295, and a 2-credit course (GMP II or IV) costs $590.
  • Tuition updates, along with billing information, can be found on the UB Student Accounts webpage.
  • After we register your child, the statement will show on the student HUB account. There are no paper bills. Please do not send payment to the GMP office. The University must receive your payment on time or you will be charged a late fee. Please observe deadlines as late registration or payment charges cannot be waived by GMP action.
  • Information about payment deadlines and how to pay can be found here. Payment is normally due in mid-January.
  • We recommend that parents become Authorized Payers especially so that you will receive billing and reminders without checking your student's email. Student accounts personnel are not able to discuss the account with parents who are not listed as Authorized Payers.
  • If you are not a permanent resident or H4 visa, you will be charged out-of-state rates. If you are a permanent resident or H4 visa, you may be asked to complete a New York State Residency Application in order to pay in-state rates.
  • Be aware that students in our program are classified with “GMP” status. This means the courses available through our program do not have any fees associated with them. The University charges tuition without added fees for our courses. If students decide to register for non-GMP courses during the Fall and Spring semesters through the Advanced College Credit Program (e.g., classes such as chemistry, physics, psychology, languages, etc.), the GMP status is removed and they are responsible for any University fees associated with the courses, which can be substantial.
  • Please recall that this is general education credit and not mathematics credit.
  • The credit for this course will appear as a spring semester course on your child's transcript, though the grade will reflect the first three quarters of the GMP year.
  • It is very important that you understand that tuition charges cannot be avoided once you register. Scholarship assistance is not available for college credit.
  • If you wish to obtain college credit for the current year, complete and sign the Permission to Register Form by December 8th.
